Couple of Amtrak delays recently leave me wondering what's going on. Their website says nothing. Anyway:

On May 24, both #5 and #3 left Chicago on time (per the Amtrak live map), apparently did not call at Naperville and Princeton, IL, and showed up at Galesburg 10+ (#5) and 8 1/2 (#3) hours late. No mention in Amtrak's web site of track work or the like. #5 has made up a couple of hours, #3 has lost more and will be 12+ hours late at LA. Anybody have an idea what happened?

The same trains, on May 25, hit all the stops but left Chicago 3-4 hours late. Similar issues whatever they were, or just incoming delayed causing outbound etc.?

Today, like several other times I've seen, #11 or 14 (11 this time) lost an hour between Emeryville and Oakland/Jack London. Is that due to switching in or out a private car? Can't think of much else that could cost that much time in that short a distance.

Not criticizing Amtrak (except for their lack of information). Just wondering.
