BNSF is supposedly now taking one detour each way per day.
I believe there was already a 2 day work window to do tunnel work, so Amtrak already had a KFalls-Eugene bus bridge in place for that, presumably it is continuing until the tunnel reopens.
There is more than a traffic disruption going on with UP. I saw two tamping gangs plus a switch tamper/tie replacement crew tied up at Wetherby. Driving I-84 west between Huntington and Baker I saw a manifest, a Z train, a covered hopper unit, a stack train and the Super Fruit (only 9 cars) headed east, plus a westbound at Quartz waiting for a meet - all around 4 pm today. The hopper train was interesting - all Canadian cars (mostly CP). I first though it might be fertilizer headed east out of Eastport, but it didn't have DPUs and springs looked empty. I think UP was repositioning a CP empty grain train further east (Mpls-StP or ?) rather than try to get it through Eastport while CP restarts after the short strike they just had.
