Uniden Bearcat Radio Scanners

I have had the Bearcat BC75XLT scanner for about five years. It's been a good railfanning scanner. The LED display is failing rapidly, which, I understand is a common problem with this model.

I need a new scanner. I'm looking for advice on Bearcat in general and the Uniden HomePatrol-2 Scanner in particular. This model looks interesting as it apparently has frequencies pre-programmed based on location. It's a little pricey, though. Anyone have experience with this model? Is it worth the price?

How about other, less expensive, Bearcat models? Are the LED displays reliable on other models? Any recommendations for a good scanner for railfanning?

Many thanks in advance for advice.
