Guys.....Today's Trains magazine has the same choices we have at the tracks..very little variety..Its not like the old days when you could go to Chicago, K.C. or St. Louis and see as many as six different railroads passing thru one area....We get dirty UP units that UP doesn't wash but in two places on the system...We get hords of G.E.s on the BNSF in orange and almost gone are the WB's BN green and SF b/y units..I use to see lots of guys along the lines out watching or shooting, but no more....Trains magazine faces the same problems we do and all the variety has gone to the short lines or is gone to scrap. We don't have the steam power to hunt on main lines any more, no F's, Alco's FM's...The magazine has adjusted to the present....There are plenty of stories to read and there is plenty of good photography to be seen and you don't have to be a name to produce photo's...
