There are some short lines that engage the fans and stuff, as long the fans follow protocol and stay off the tracks and ROW and observe from the sidewalk or side of the road.

I remember when I was a kid it was different. I'd take pics with my little 127 film camera and snap off what I thought was interesting. One time a train stopped on the tracks I was taking pics at an the engineer got out of his local and walking along his train and he took a pic of me standing next to the train. Can't do that nowadays except at a museum with a static display. We had a nice little chat and we talked safety as before he stopped, another kid about half mile away was tossing rocks.
