Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world's largest leisure travel company, through its subsidiary, Holland America Princess Alaska Tours, announced today it has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire TWC Enterprises Limited's White Pass & Yukon Route (WP&YR) division, which includes White Pass' port, railroad and retail operations in Skagway, Alaska. The transaction is scheduled to close on July 31, 2018 subject to customary closing conditions.

This transaction alters the ongoing situation in Skagway about who would pay for (and control) a new dock there. They WP&Y controls the current dock, but that lease ends in 2023. If you are interested in that issue, here is an article from last November:
