Until the cruise ship boom hit, the WP&YR was nearly toast (after the highway was built from Whitehorse to Skagway, keeping the freight on the trucks). At one point, they sold all the Montreal-built units to a mining company in Chile, then later bought them all back. So while this sale is likely to bring changes, it's probably the best thing for the railway's future survival. I just hope they keep the two steam locomotives in service.
