In hawaii it was built for sugar cane trains. The one in the big island went all over. There is a railroad museum in lapahoehoe to the north.
Other side from hilo is An escape route from a town that is now gone is kapoho and others. Pele.
On the old roadbed from the south. Look it up and maui railroad is still idle. Different island.
And if you love kings hawaiian bread it started on big island hilo. Now is all mainland made in torrance California or Atlanta area Georgia. Big island gettin bigga. Mahalo
