The road over Kaiser Peak, between Huntington Lake and Mono Hot Springs, CA., has a few pucker moments, made all the worse by the sometimes paved portions that give a false sense of comfort. No guardrails ( unless you count the trees ), off - camber blind curves on 8% grades, and livestock & log trucks once the snow melts off.
