Ex-C&O cars?

I have a vague recollection that SP bought these cars used from the C&O, and that they were originally built for the "Chessie", or some such, a train that never happened. If I remember correctly they had a rather upscale interior with a divider in the middle of the car, that eliminated the "bowling alley" ambience of a typical coach. Can any of the experts here confirm.
