Let'play Dick Anderson's game for the Chief

Lamy, NM-Jansen, CO: Since there's no PTC and no freight to support it, and Anderson doesnt want to pitch in... The State plus Federal TIGER grants will have to cover the full PTC installation... Does this portion have ATS?

No one has stepped in and played on Anderson. The only reason to make him want to keep the Chief as a complete operation would be to install PTC thru Raton between Lamy and Jansen... Yes, this would be NO excuse for splitting e and 4 with a bus bridge.

I am aware FRA has given a waiver for Raton not having PTC. This is clearly an internal Amtrak policy. Perhaps get the funding and have an extension ala RailRunner using the ATS "safety addon" as an excuse while PTC is installed.

Just my 2 cents
