This is reminiscent of Southern Railways' train off cases back in the late 60s: sever a train short of its actual destination as a pretext to drop the entire operation. The Chief's problem is that even though it serves a historic route, with the exceptions of Kansas City and Albuquerque it misses most population centers. What about a revived/modified City of LA service routed via KC, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas? Thoughts anyone?
