On a recent visit last month I was catching around 15 a day, missing some overnight in the we hour. Having patience, access to ATCS, and knowing traffic patterns is important. I ran into a Euro tourist foamer who complained about not seeing anything despite at least 6 coming through while he was out driving around away from the trscks. He didn't have the patience to wait around after a west Z went by us into single tracking past Norden that was bunching up eastbounds at Switch 9. There ended up being 3 west and 3 east freights converging on Truckee after he left.
