Great Redwood Trail

The next great boondoggle will be the "Great Redwood Trail". The state will have to pay for the cost of removing the rail and ties and surfacing the ROW as a trail. Then constantly pay to maintain it. The hills above and below the ROW won't stop moving just because the ROW is not used by trains anymore. Slides and washouts will continue to happen. Little sections by populated areas will be used but I would surmise that most of the Eel River Canyon will rarely see a traveler.

It's kind of funny. A better ROW to turn into a trail would be the old Yosemite Valley ROW. At least there is a lot more tourist traffic in that area.
