Long beach, Washington State. Ilwaco Railway and Navigation company built in 1888 from Ilwaco to Nahcotta, Washington. Served by steamship from POrtland and Astoria Oregon. Extended to a deepwater port at Megler, Washington in 1906. Became part of the OR&N in 1900 and O-W-RR&N in 1910 later part of the UP system. Last run September 9, 1930. The aforementioned passenger cars were stored under cover in a shed at Nahcotta. After last run they were sold less the trucks to people along the former right-of-way. Of course in the PNW rain and weather they deteriated rapidly. From the 1960's to 1970's most disappeared. The best preserved is the N10 now under cover in Ilwaco Heritage Museum along with the freight depot.
