I personally can't believe the guy is sitting there feeling the need to defend his business to a bunch of two bit buffs, let alone give a blue suede shoe wearing lawyer ammo to use against him.
But that is why everything from model railroading to museums are dying now. Nothing but a bunch of old guys sitting around shouting at each other. How do you draw a kid away from their iPad long enough to try to get them interested in railroads?
But I guess reflecting on it, not much has changed. I was eager to join a model railroad club as a teen, but was quickly put off by a bunch of guys who wanted to sit around and hold meetings under Roberts Rules rather than run trains and be pulled aside to be told my long freight trains "tied up the layout" and "intimidated" other members into not running trains. Meanwhile, the club visitors that came through talked about nothing but my trains and I was happy to talk with them about my passion for the hobby and how they could get into it. Yet, some old guy sulking in a corner saw this as a problem.
Thankfully, all that did is tell me to throw the toys in a box and pursue a real transportation career, rather than sit around and play trains.
