Nobody mentioned a Western/Coast"Safety Dinner Train".
SP was still using them back in the 70s. In SLO they would show up on the east peddler from Wat. Jct. They would spot the train over near the museum track (I think the lead was the "Tool Spur or Team track" #2509". It would stick around for 3 days and feed the crews coming on duty or crews coming in to tie up, 24-7. They also spotted it at Wat.Jct. and other terminals on the Western. I am sure MDO or RDB would have more info.
There was another "Car" I think the SP 112, where they would have rule classes and air brake displays.
