The IER [SP] paid for its share of cab signaling for the Bridge Ry with most of the rolling stock. Lucky for the USMC and PE it was still around when needed, having not been cut up for scrap and sent to Japan in 1940. Most went to So CA, but others went to Utah [bodies now back in CA at Rio Vista], a few to Houston, and perhaps others here or there.
Even if Key had had the million$ [today's billion$ ], a high level bridge that would pass War Dept approval would have been impracticable to say the least.
Yeah really too bad Bart is 66in, and no freight can be hauled......
Pullllleeeeeze get over it. The cost difference was nil and swamped by the bungled train control and other over-reaches. And while your up, check the gage of the electric railway [the one with proper overhead wire] out of 69th St in Philadelphia
Tell us, but make it the very last time, how the gage is making the new cars so bad. Ten cars only have finally been tweaked enough to run, out of how many?
How long to get them all on-line?
Where are the homeless supposed to c--p?
From now on just concentrate on the Great Tejon Conspiracy. You can make s--t up for that one. The GM conspiracy has been de-bunked by experts- google is your friend-try George Hilton IIRC
