So as we expected. Though it's close enough to an hour that most people wouldn't notice. And a definite plus would be (as long as it stays as separate tracks) lack of BNSF freight interference so the schedule would be a little more reliable than now. I am disappointed somewhat with San Joaquin trains' timekeeping (per asm.transitdocs.org) in recent years; it used to be within a few minutes of time (if not early) almost every time I rode it when I lived in Fresno, except for a couple of occasions (always heading home, for some reason) when the train broke down or there was a major oops (dispatcher having us on the wrong track for Denair, resulting in having to back a couple of miles from the nearest crossover to the station).
Funny, in the 1980s, I had a similar experience with BART on occasional commutes from Fremont to SF. Trains always ran fine, right on time, in the morning, but often had some kind of problem on the way back. And I had to drive 40 miles to get to BART, through San Jose (a pain even back then). Ended up, in practice, driving to Daly City or even (before ubiquitous permit parking) somewhere around West Portal, and catching BART or the Muni downtown. Worked better.
