That's true. They also stopped making small friction rig truck cranes in the early 60's. (Grove was one of the first) Hydraulic rigs are safer , require less skill and have replaced shovels (except in mining)for at least 40 years . Hydraulic excavators both wheeled and with tracks can be fitted with hi- rail gear.Funny i saw a parked Burro last week near Moab Utah last week.
