Utter and complete rubbish.
Highway deaths had been around 33,000 per year for the period 2009 through 2014, and were back up to around 37,000 by 2016, about a 15% increase, since that low period, from a variety of causes, but especially from increased pedestrian deaths, which are up by nearly 50% as a percentage of those killed, in the last decade, to a record of over 6,000 killed annually. Another annectdotal assertion for which there is no specific data available to support.

More speculation, for which there is no real data.....
Approximately 1 in 5 pedestrian deaths are indeed Seniors (although there is no data which shows this changing lately), about 1 in 5 are also children, and 34% of pedestrian fatalities are legally impaired on alcohol (similar to the DUI driving fatality rate, as opposed to the nearly 40% legally impaired on alcohol in bicycle fatalities).
As to causality of pedestrian fatalities with Seniors, there is no evidence at all to support your "walking while old" thesis. It turs out that Seniors like to do stupid things like drink and walk, text and walk, too. But, they are run over, like most other pedestrians, by many more idiots texting while driving, drunk driving, and running lights and crosswalks, just like the rest of us.
