This is a dangerous intersection with many roads and many autos crammed right up against freeway ramps and the SMART train right down the middle. Obviously when the NWP line was built there was none of the automobile crap around. And definitely not Graton Casino.

The SMART ROW is fenced right up to the crossing. It looks like the victim was crossing the tracks. The news article has him on the sidewalk. If he were walking along the tracks inside the fence and proceeding north he must have gotten onto the fenced ROW at Rohnert Park Expressway.

The big question is whether he was trying to go east or west at Golf Course. The body was located about 10 yards to the west of the tracks and judging from the news pictures the SMART train was traveling north. You would think the body would have been thrown into the intersection but possibly not if he had just been clipped and thrown west. With that speed and that inertia a clip would be fatal.

Forget the public awareness campaigns - spend the money on grade separation.
