Follow up.
I stumbled over the battery autonomy of the SwissTrolley Plus by Hess, a single-articulated trolley bus with a 60 kWh battery:
In regular operation (as if fed from the overhead wires), the battery lasts for 10 km; in "emergency mode" (non-essential consumers turned off, limited speed, etc.), it lasts for 30 km.
The battery is charged whenever needed and the bus is operating from the overhead wires, it is also charged by regenerative braking, and it has a power grid plug with power rating up to 22 kW.
