I must confess to being somewhat confused. I've been convinced that the CAHSR very expensive diversion through cities and towns along the 99 corridor was for the benefit of local politicians and their clients promoting real estate development. And what they really wanted was speedy commutes to Bay Area employment centers. I also thought the same of the Antelope Valley excursion providing speedy commutes from Lancaster-Palmdale housing to Los Angeles.
With a CAHSR stop at Gorman, the Tejon Ranch folks could have enjoyed the same benefits. But no, they want the opposite. They actually want the occupants of their 35,000 homes to get in their cars and drive 100 mile round trips to jobs and shopping!
As the headline for last week's LA Times article on the Tejon development reads, "A vast future suburb already out of date?"
