The Centennial development is in LA County and includes 19,000 homes. The Mountain Village and Grapevine developments will contain the rest, and have already been approved by Kern County.

They claim that enough business and jobs will be built into the project so that most of the people who live there can work there. But the problem is that so much job diversity is required, for example from highly specialized tech to warehouse or service jobs, that achieving a high percentage of local employment isn't realistic. The people who live there won't be interested in the low-pay jobs which always come with industry and services, so there will be large numbers of people commuting in as well as commuting out.
