In this instance going 50mph instead of 66 might have made the difference. Purportedly a witness said he did jump back but not fast enough or far enough.

SMART is spending its money wrong - instead of overhead wire and grade separation it is blowing money on payroll. 2 man operation and bridge tenders at the low-level Petaluma bridge.
