And, PR fodder for the "true believers" about the GHG reductions from the miniscule number of total vehicle trips and vehicle miles, that would be diverted to the "runaway money train", regardless of the cost per ton of CO2 you propose to "buy" with our scarce taxpayer dollars.

I've had to deal with ventilating 189,000 automobiles operating 24/7 in a 4 mile set of highway tunnels, and crossing major faults. So EVIL AWFUL trains under Saugus Mountain, through deadly evil earthquake faults, and venting even a half a dozen locomotives an hour, doesn't make me all "piss in my diapers" scared $3itless of my own shadow from these EVIL SINISTER FORCES OF NATURE, like it seems to frighten poor little Mouse.

And, having done AQ transportation calculations too numerous to mention for trip reduction strategies, for both health standard criteria and GHG pollutants, and I am not at all impressed with the cost per ton of emissions that would be reduced for either ML electrification, nor from the "runaway money train" trip diversion, since there are transportation and rail transit projects that would deliver the same kind of GHG emissions, diverting many more trips, at a much lower cost per trip, and cost per ton of emissions, than we get with the "runaway money train".
