Since both #11 and #14 show "service disruption" at asm.transitdocs.com, they'll probably be annulled at KFalls & Sacramento respectively. That's where trains have been turned during previous disruptions. There are ways around the fire, but Amtrak buses might not want to use them; they're long, 2-lane back road runs (at 3 AM?).
Leads me to wonder: even if Amtrak wanted to detour via Feather River and Inside Gateway, and UP & BNSF were willing to allow it, they probably won't be able to do that after December with the PTC restrictions, right? Or at least they won't be able to do it with passengers aboard. Is Amtrak tight enough on West Coast equipment that they would have to send the train through the back way as a deadhead equipment move while hauling the passengers on buses? I don't think so, but I don't know so. And will the upcoming PTC hardnose approach by Amtrak eliminate things like the Tehachapi detours for the Starlight?
Anyway, definitely looks bad, and UP as well as Caltrans will have some cleanup to do after the fire moves away. Hope the medevac'd people and cut-off CHP are OK.

And just for kicks, it looks in the CHP CAD web site (link from Webdigger above) like as expected a semi got stuck on Scott Mountain and blocked the detour via SR3. If Amtrak wants to use buses they'll have to send them out to the east from Redding.
