Once upon a time, the extension was supposed to go down King St., around on the Embarcadero, then into the box from the east. Now it's from the west. If the box provided for storage tracks to the west, it'll now have to be extended to the east. Huh?

Future conspiracy: if HSR ever comes to SF from the south, doing the connection this way leaves the east side open for extension into a new (BART? Will BART control the HSR line and operations north of San Jose?) tube and up to Sac. HeeHee see if the trolling works...
