Re: Batteries for the Muni NIMBY bus?

A campaign calling for wiring the #38 Geary straightaway would certainly flush out the Global Warming phonies. It is in your face obvious: crushload patronage, relatively short and straight route, purpose designed and located on line storage at Presidio Yard-Geary Carhouse, underground feeders from the B already in place.

Muni had called for electrification in the '80's but diesel busmen took charge. I doubt if the current crowd would have gone for the retention of streetcars on Market. As it is they should run a new Market streetcar extension down 11th Street and on down Potrero or San Bruno.

Hey, while we are at it let's take the Cal Cable back out to Fillmore, its original terminus.

Historically, I wonder if anybody in 1954 considered connecting the truncated California St. cable to the outer end of the Washington & Jackson Sts. line via new track, say, on Polk? Woulda, coulda, shoulda.
