AFAIK there have not been changes to the Golf Course intersection. I'll ask my daughter to take a good look the next time she crosses it. A lot of times she takes the back way - Petaluma Hill Rd. - but with all the houses under construction it will be totally jammed soon.

What does not show up readily I am sure in the Google renditions is how congested this area is; it has been building up significantly in the past few years. It is directly in the shadow of the 101 viaduct and leads to a number of big box stores to the west, in particular Walmart and Home Depot. A new hotel(mostly made out of OSB)and behind Graton Casino and its hotel, definitely not made out of OSB as Stations has a billion to play with. Everybody and his hamster is in a super hurry thereabouts. The SMART ROW curves to the northwest under the 101 viaduct.

Over the longer term the SMART trackage has grade separation potential, but not with heavy freight and doodlebugs. To make any sense and be viable this line needs to go to southern Marin and the City. Of course that was what GGT had in mind when they owned a big part of the ROW and talked up paving it for its coaches. Rail is definitely preferable but at least the GGT manager at the time was thinking transit reality.
