The line that went north from Pagosa Jct. was originally the Rio Grande & Pagosa Northern RR. It served a large lumber mill in Pagosa Springs. There were a few logging branches off the RG&PN line.
On my trip down there, but later after leaving the area, ran across a RG&PN railroad safe in a collectible shop, that a lady was running. She did not know much about the safe but had it priced reasonably. Not too large, but way to heavy for the rv floor to support, so I just admired the artifact.
