Seems like the chosen alignment could be tied into the Metrolink AV line northeast of Santa Clarita. The proposed route is not in a tunnel where it crosses the existing line. Would make sense to build the northern section first, tie it into Metrolink, and have vastly improved service to Lancaster (and Vegas) while the southern section is under construction.
