California courts are apparently now into arrogantly re-interpreting the laws of nature to suit themselves. Not just re-interpreting the the laws of man.
Apparently, it is now possible for an effect to precede its own cause. The towers were markedly sinking well before construction was even started on the Trans Bay; and were already sinking even while they themselves were still under construction.
Now we also have cracked beams at the Trans Bay. Could it be that the soil under both buildings is too soft to support the added weight of either one - resulting in subsidence, adding to all sorts of stresses. Could it be that both constructors thought themselves to be Gods and ignored the laws of physics as actually they are - the judge certainly did.
Or did they just skimp on the foundations or use substandard materials, pocketing the difference?
It's gotta be one or the other - don't it!
