UP Permanente Local

Does anyone know if the UP Permanente Local still goes up the Vasona branch? I remember hearing something about the cement plant shutting down in the future but I don't remember. Drove by the Hamilton Avenue crossing and saw that the rails were rusty, would like to catch this operation some more if I can.
