1. Has the museum given up moving on to Molina and even Montezuma one day? And has going north ever of RVJ ever been considered?
Well going beyond Bird Landing Rd would be nice, all it takes is money, and volunteers
As for northward, how far does the museum have trackage rights? The track looks good on Google sat view, the wye ROW and ROW to the military base is still there. You could do diesel powered dinner trains?
2.Is there any foreseeable plan to restore the Bidwell or OE observation parlor cars?
I go back to question 1, money and volunteers......
Are there any current restoration projects?
Sorry can not answer that one. I am sure they are working on some projects.
As an outside observer, this museum is suffering what all museums are: the aging of the interested parties to keep it alive. I do not know how many people are at WRM as active members, but like GGRM, PLA, and others, I sure there are politics, personality issues, "kingdom" issues, and the always present "we were given the locomotive, car, tool, etc, so therefore we have to keep it, even though it is not in line with the mission of the museum"
I am sure there are several items that could be traded to other museums there for a piece of original SN equipment or service that would assist in the restoration of equipment there.
Off of my soap box
