Permit me please to relate that my experience with seeing 271 dignified with a panto-graph almost exclusively on Westbrae run was as I recall from 1933 to 1942.. when at I rode my bike out of the way along side the track going to school..It seemed always to be faithfully at University St. when bridge trains were there to drop off and pick up transfers... The bridge unit I saw only once at night around 1942 was a one time real surprise. Certainly over capacity for the job... perhaps that because wanting a panto-graph. ?
