There are no switches or crossovers. If there had
been, the only option would have been to cross the
runaway over and have him hit a westbound that was
approaching on the other track head-on.
That dispatcher did the right things. Quick thinking
on his part prevented the possibility of 4 fatalities
instead of 2.
