Very interesting ff. Yes, that would have been L.M.Macdermot, the builder and operator of the Overfair Railway. I think his shop and the family estate may have occupied the same block? Seems to me I was told on or near 7th street?
MacDermot operated one of the engines (the 1913) again from 1942 to 1945. I believe this was at or near the Oakland Zoo.
Los Gatos in '66 would have been at Billy Jones' prune ranch. I believe he re-gauged some of his railroad from 18" to 19" and briefly tried to run one of the Overfair engines, but had trouble keeping it on the rails.
