Buying a flatcar next makes sense. That would be his deck.
The problem with owning a railcar is having a place to store it. Since he works for a railroad it makes it easier. Otherwise you have to find some siding somewhere that you can lease or you need a big enough piece of property to build a track on. If he wants to restore it to original then he can possibly do a deal to store it at a museum. Being a member helps.
