The 'coast' will remain in one form or another. Yhe Feds,the military nor the Dept'of defense won't let is be torn up,plus Amtrak. I t's the only north/south relief valve in the state and with projection and increasing traffic, the Tehachapis' will someday be at capacity,not to mention something happening like the earthquake of '52 would shut it down for months and you'd have to send 50 trains a day somewhere.Just a guess,but if any port is expanded on the west coast,it would most probably be Port Hueneme and also,BNSf has trackage rights on the coast. Time will tell
