To clarify my previous comments.
I'M NOT in favor of eliminating the union dining car crews and chefs.
I hope that the remaining food servers would retain their union representation to protect their pensions and benefits and bargain for them when contracts are up for renewal.
The reality is that Amtrak needs to take reasonable steps to reduce costs and still maintain quality meal service to attract and satisfy passengers.
