I don't understand this comment.With up to twenty or more trains a day and Amtrak the Cascade line IS a critical north-south route connecting the Pacific Northwest with California and all the west coast ports.Why would anyone see it as not investment worthy? I do agree that the route over the mountains with steep grades ,tight curves and aging tunnels will be a challenge to the new generation of RR engineers.
