Re: SP 4449 and the SP coast line

I rode the "Daylight Doubleheader" back in 1992 and they were able to turn the whole train and the 2472 with no problems on the Watsonville wye. But the 4449 had a heck of a time turning. They crawled around the wye and the center drivers kept climbing the rail then thumping back down. Realistically the wye is just a few degrees too tight for the 4449.
