If you want to be accurately quoted in a newspaper, keep dreaming. The only way to have what you say printed in its entirety is a letter to the editor. Once you make a statement to a reporter the words you use are translated into whatever the reporter understands, from there it's a crapshoot. Reporters have an immense power to shape public opinion by what they report. I have personally sat next to a reporter at a city council meeting from beginning to end. The report in the next days newspaper lead me to wonder what meeting the guy had been to. There were entire issues that were reported to have been addresses that were never mentioned at the meeting. I stopped reading that particular paper for anything but the ads and the comics from that point on. Apparently if it aint "NEWSY" enough, make something up.
