Thanks all. UP has put up new power poles along much of the line on the flank of Mt. Shasta. From what I have explored they seem to run from somewhere north of Andesite to somewhere south of Hotlum. They look to be used for power for line side equipment. They are generally pretty close to the track, though in some locations follow the MOW roads. In a few locations where there were significant cuts UP seems to have reused the existing old SP poles for power, but on the other side of the cut power returns to the new poles. Kinda a bummer from a photographic prospective, but also a little interesting considering everywhere else you see code line and power poles disappearing from the ROW.
