Amtrak never tells you why train X is delayed. Not even on the phone. Simply that it is, and you can find that out yourself from several sources including Amtrak itself (train status) and Amtrak Status Map (http://www.transitdocs.org). And if the data feed happens to go down (as it does whenever there's a big storm or other event that affects a lot of trains), nobody can tell you the status even the phone people. So get up to date and use the browser on your flip phone (yes, most have one) for info.

Does Amtrak have an ignore list of phone numbers they will never answer? Instead, they're routed into the bit-bucket queue?
