IIRC, the WP managed to extend TCS in stages by deactivating certain "short" sidings such as Twain and Mabie. This was due to increased traffic with BN. Of course, BN became unhappy with the pending UP-MP-WP merger and terminated the run through of pool power late in 1982. I think that resulted in a one train a day as BN diverted a lot of its traffic to Espee. UP really lost interest in the 4th Sub and the line went out of service due to a tunnel fire or two? Around 1990, the signal system was removed.
Corrections welcomed.
