Your concern may be valid. However, the frequencies used are standard commercial communication frequencies allocated by the Federal Communications Commission. They are public record, as are the current and previous owners of the channels involved. Since PTC uses digital communications over those frequencies, one might presume (justified?) that some form of encryption or other security is used to ensure that at least trivial attacks can be resisted.
