Rummers and Questions

folks,

There was a rummer that Fortress owned San Diego & Imperial Valley Ry would get this contract, seeing as they had (have?) the contract to switch Escondido. What happened? There is at least one active freight customer south of the Miramar spur. Any idea why BNSF wouldn't want to contract out these spurs near Old Town as well?

I have questions for any history experts out there: When the Santa Fe ran the line there were separate Escondido and main line locals, when did they become one job? Also when the Santa Fe ran the line there was another local from the north that worked to Oceanside, where did it start from and how long did it operate?

Thanks folks,
unk diego
